BL

BL, short for "Boys Love" or also known as Yaoi (やおい), shonen ai (少年愛), bara (薔薇), among others, is a genre with a common focus that originated in Japan but has gained popularity in other Asian countries as well as in the West, each with its own terminology. In China, the genre is known as "Danmei" (耽美), while in South Korea it is referred to as "Yaoi" or "BL" (비엘). In Thailand, BL is mainly associated with the popular television series and is called "Y series" (ซีรีส์วาย).

This genre focuses on romantic stories between male characters, ranging from pure love plots to those that include erotic elements, depending on the subgenre. In addition to manga and anime, BL extends to various formats such as television series, movies, light novels, and more.
