By the Grace of the Gods is a 2020 anime based on the novel series by Roy. It began on January 28, 2014, with it being published by Shōsetsuka ni Narō. The light novel version of the series was illustrated by Ririnra, and was serialized and published under Hobby Japan's HJ Novels imprint on September 22, 2017. The manga version of the series was illustrated by Ranran, and was serialized and published in Square Enix's Manga UP! magazine on November 29, 2017.
The anime series was announced by Hobby Japan on February 20, 2020[1]. The series overall was animated by Maho Film, and directed by Takeyuki Yanase. It premiered its first season in Japan from October 4, 2020 to December 20, 2020, consisting of 12 episodes. The second season later premiered from January 9, 2023 to March 27, 2023, consisting of 12 episodes.
FUNimation Entertainment produced an English Dub of the series for eight episodes before OkraTron 5000 did the rest of the last four episodes of Season 1, which premiered on the FUNimationNow streaming service on November 1, 2020[2][3]. Crunchyroll took over the production of the series, following Sony's acquisition. They produced the English Dub of the second season, which premiered on their streaming service on January 23, 2023[4][5].
