Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki is a 2021 anime based on the light novel series with the same name written by Yūki Yaku and illustrated by Fly. It began serilization on May 18, 2016.
It was animated by Project No.9, directed by Shinsuke Yanagi, and premiered in Japan from January 8, 2021 to March 26, 2021, consisting 12 episodes. FUNimation Entertainment produced an English dub of the series, which premiered on the Funimation streaming service on March 12, 2021. The anime also released 2 OVA episodes from May 7, 2021 to June 2, 2021. The second season titled Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki 2nd STAGE, premiered in Japan from January 3, 2024 to March 27, 2024, consisting of 13 episodes. With the closure of Funimation, Crunchyroll took over the production for the English Dub of Season 2.
Synopsis
Expert gamer Tomozaki Fumiya doesn’t exactly fit in, but he wishes he did. With no written rules for success and gameplay that doesn’t work in his favor, the real world seems impossible for someone like him. But, like any noob, all he really needs are some strategies and a seasoned player like Aoi Hinami to help him. Hopefully with her guidance, Tomozaki will gain the experience he needs.
