Blue Period is a Japanese drama anime series directed by Katsuya Asano and Koji Masunari. It is based on Tsubasa Yamaguchi's hit manga of the same name, which won the 2020 Manga Taisho Grand Prize. The anime was released from October 2, 2021 until December 18, 2021, with Netflix beginning to airing it weekly on October 9, 2021 until December 25, 2021.
The English dub version premiered on Netflix on January 28, 2022.
Synopsis
Yatora Yaguchi excels in school and is well-liked by his peers, but inside he's a high school boy grappling with emptiness and frustration. That is, until one day when he finds himself fascinated by a painting. The painting's impact drives Yatora to throw himself into the harsh and beautiful world of art.
