Blue Box (アオのハコ, Ao no Hako) is a 2024 anime series based on the manga with the same name written and illustrated by Kouji Miura. It was serialized and published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on April 12, 2021.

The anime series was announced on November 19, 2023.[1] It was animated by Telecom Animation Film, produced by TMS Entertainment, directed by Yuichiro Yano, series composition by Yuko Kakihara, composed by Takashi Ohmama, and it premiered in Japan on October 3, 2024 to March 27, 2025 for two consecutive cours. The First Cour aired from October 3 to December 19, 2024, while the Second Cour premiered on January 2, 2025 until March 27, 2025.

Netflix licensed the series and began streaming it weekly worldwide on October 3, 2024 until March 27, 2025. The English dub of the first season premiered on April 18, 2025.

On March 27, following the release of episode 25, the series was renewed for a second season.

Synopsis

Do these sports-crossed lovers have a chance?

Taiki Inomata loves badminton, but he has a long way to go before he can reach nationals. When Taiki sees upperclassman Chinatsu Kano practicing her heart out on the girls’ basketball team, he falls for her hard. After an unexpected turn of events brings the two closer together, sports might not be the first thing on their minds anymore!


Dubbing History[]

Netflix commissioned the dub of the series to VSI Los Angeles in September of 2024, and the series started airing weekly on Netflix on October 3, 2024, however it was only available in Japanese audio. Despite only having the original Japanese audio, it included credits for multiple language dubs which were added on January 2, 2025, including an English dub and its voice cast.

The English dub was eventually released on April 18, 2025.
