Black Summoner (黒の召喚士, Kuro no Shōkanshi) is a 2022 anime based on the light novel series with the same name wriiten by Doufu Mayoi and illustrated by Kurogin for volumes 1-6, & DaiXt for volume 7 & beyond currently. It was published by Overlap under their Overlap Bunko imprint on June 25, 2016. The orginal web novel of the series was published by Shōsetsuka ni Narō from October 6, 2014 to July 1, 2024. The manga version of the series was illustrated by Gin Ammo, and was serialized in Overlap's Comic Gardo magazine on January 11, 2018.
The anime series was announced on February 17, 2022.[1] It was animated by Satelight, directed by Yoshimasa Hiraike, series composition by Yoshimasa Hiraike, music composed by both Michiru & Yuria Miyazono, and it premiered in Japan from July 9, 2022 to September 24, 2022, consisting 12 episodes.
Crunchyroll licensed and produced an English dub of the series, which premiered on their streaming service on July 23, 2022.[2][3]
