Dubbing History[]
The film was dubbed by Frontier Enterprises in Tokyo around 1987, by commission from Toei. The film was originally released on VHS in 1987 by Celebrity Home Entertainment under its "Just For Kids" label as Vengeance of the Space Pirate. Like most of their releases, it was heavily cut, excising about 40 minutes of content. Most notably the lengthy pre-title prologue concerning one of Harlock's ancestor's attempting to fly over the tallest peak (known as the Stanley Witch) of the Owen Stanley Mountain Range in New Guinea.
The film was later re-released by Best Film & Video along with many of the other anime released under the Just For Kids label. It was given the alternately translated title of My Youth in Arcadia, and features the full uncut dub of the film. The dub was not included in AnimEigo's 2003 DVD release. In 2017, Discotek Media released the film on DVD and Blu-Ray with the uncut English dub included.

Notes[]
- The translation of the title used for most releases, Arcadia of my Youth, is a mis-translation. The proper translation is My Youth in Arcadia. The Best Film and Video VHS release uses the proper title.
