Appleseed (アップルシード) is a Japanese cyberpunk original video animation adapted from the manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow. The OVA was produced by Gainax and released on April 21, 1988.
An English dub was produced by Manga Entertainment in 1994 and released it on VHS next year and later on DVD. Discotek Media has since rescued the license and re-released it on DVD. It was also released on Blu-ray.
