Angel Beats! is an anime series produced by P.A. Works and Aniplex and directed by Seiji Kishi. The story was originally conceived by Jun Maeda, who also wrote the screenplay and composed the music with the group Avant-Garde Eyes. Character designs were done by Na-Ga. Both Maeda and Na-Ga are from the visual novel brand Key. The anime was aired in Japan on CBC from April 3 to June 26, 2010. An OVA, titled Stairway to Heaven, was released on December 22, 2010. Sentai Filmworks licensed and dubbed both the anime series and OVA in 2011.
