André Paul "Andy" Luotto (born July 30, 1950) is an American actor, writer, comedian, musician, chef, and restaurateur. He has resided in Italy since the mid-1970s, where he is a prolific television personality, and is currently the owner and operator of the Lá restaurant in Rome's Piazza Venezia.
Biography[]
A son of the late voice actor Gene Luotto, Andy grew up in Brooklyn before moving to Italy with his family at age 14. He returned to the United States to study cinematography at Boston University, graduating in 1972. Shortly afterwards, he began his dubbing career in Rome, permanently moving there in 1978. He obtained success as both a physical and dubbing actor, even obtaining lead roles in SuperAndy (1979), a parody of Superman (1978), and Grunt (1983), a parody of Quest for Fire (1981) which he also wrote and directed.
In recent years, he starred in a minor role in Abel Ferrara's comedy film Go Go Tales (2007), and also had roles in Pinocchio (2012), in which he was the Italian voice of the innkeeper, and My Name Is Thomas (2018) starring Terence Hill.
