After the Rain

After the Rain (恋は雨上がりのように, Koi wa Ameagari no Yō ni) is a 2018 anime series television series based on the manga with the same name written and illustrated by Jun Mayuzuki. It was published and serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Big Comic Spirits (2014–2015) and Weekly Big Comic Spirits (2016–2018) from June 27, 2014 to March 19, 2018 with a total of 10 volumes.

The anime series was announced in March of 2017. It was animated by Wit Studio, directed by Ayumu Watanabe, and aired from January 12, 2018 to March 30, 2018, on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block, consisting of 12 episodes. Amazon streamed the anime series until Sentai Filmworks announced their acquisistion in March of 2020. It was released for Blu-Ray and DVD with an English Dub produced included. It was added onto the HIDIVE streaming service on April 8, 2021.

Synopsis

Akira Tachibana's life has taken a wrong turn. Sidelined from her high school track team by an injury, she's found herself increasingly distanced from her friends and unsure of what to do next with her life. That's not her biggest worry though. The real problem is that she's found someone that she's interested in, someone who makes her feel like she's never felt before even though she knows that, by society's standards, it's completely wrong. Because the person at the center of the emotional storm overwhelming her is nearly three times her age and the manager of the restaurant where she's just begun to work. So, what now? Does this runner take the next step and tell him how she feels? Or will she stumble, turn, and flee from the one thing she truly wants?
