Dubbing Wikia

Adieu Galaxy Express 999 (さよなら銀河鉄道999 -アンドロメダ終着駅- Sayonara Tetsudō Surī 999: Andromeda Shuchakueki) is a 1981 Japanese anime film directed by Rintaro, and the sequel to the 1979 film Galaxy Express 999. It was originally released in Japan on August 1, 1981.

It's been three years since the destruction of planet La Maetel, but the Machine Empire is as great of a threat as ever. Teen Tetsuro, now a rebel fighter, learns that Galaxy Express 999 is returning and that Maetel is on it.

Dubbing History

The sequel was dubbed by Ocean Productions in 1996, alongside their redub of the first Galaxy Express 999 film for Viz Media. For many years, the film was only available on VHS as Viz lost the rights before they could release the two films on DVD. The films would finally get a release on Region 1 DVD in 2011 by Discotek Media. They later announced on June 11, 2017 at AnimeNEXT that the films were slated for a 2018 Blu-Ray release.
