A Fistful of Dollars (Per un pugno di dollari) is a 1964 spaghetti western film, directed by Sergio Leone, and starring Clint Eastwood, which kicks off The Dollars Trilogy, which would continue with For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad & the Ugly. It features a music score by Ennio Morricone.
It was distributed by United Artists, which also distributed the other films of the trilogy. The film was filmed in Spain, having an acting staff from Italy, Spain and Germany.
The film was slightly cut for approval by the MPAA in the days before its film rating system; it was later rated PG. A further three minutes were cut by the BBFC for an X certificate for its UK release, and one minute of footage was restored in 1981 with an AA certificate. The Australian release, with a PG rating in its initial release and an R rating in later releases, was uncut; this uncut version was later released in the United States with an R rating and in the UK with a 15 certificate.

Trivia[]
- Peter Fernandez, the voice of Antonio Baxter, is sometimes mistaken as having voiced Don Miguel Rojo, most notably on the Aveleyman website.
- This is believed to be the last work George Gonneau dubbed before relocating to Paris for ten years.
- Though the dub is predominantly New Yorkian, Anthony La Penna recorded his dialogue in Rome, having moved there permanently the year before the dub was recorded.
- It's possible this dub premiered in Japan, through Toho.
